Importance of Prenatal Vitamins During Pregnancy

Prenatal vitamins are extremely crucial during all the phases of pregnancy. These vitamins ensure a healthy pregnancy as well as healthy growth and development of the baby. Prenatal include folate, iron, calcium, zinc, vitamin A, B-complex family, C & E, D, copper, magnesium, sodium, potassium, omega-3 (DHA and EPA), etc. One thing to keep in mind is that the requirements of these vitamins differ from place to place which means a pregnant woman will need a different amount of vitamin intake as compared to the pregnant woman in some other rich country. A healthy diet is an important pillar, yet one must consume prenatal vitamins in the form of pills.
